T.I. has stated that his new album, Paper Trail, may have the lyrics toned down "ever so slightly" due to his recent legal troubles and having the experience of talking to youth all over the states. "Not to a great deal or an extra degree of censorship, I'm just making sure this album is much more intelligently and artistically put together," T.I. said in an interview, continuing "I'ma still get loose now. I'ma still do me. But you know when I was living the way I was living, I was rapping the way I was rapping ... A lot of elements that were in my life no longer exist."

Led by the new Timbaland-protege Danjahandz produced "No Matter What," Paper Trail will hit stores August 12, T.I. recently said. TIP was recently on BET for a special called "T.I. Speaks" for the first televised interview since he plead guilty to weapons charges. T.I. will also be continuing his acting career by staring in a film from New Line called For Sale, which is produced by Grand Hustle plus he will make a cameo appearance in HBO's hit series "Entourage."

DMX's troubles involving his animal cruelty continues. Local news station, KTAR is reporting that Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaino, who recently declared himself the “toughest sheriff in America," revealed that the investigation into DMX animal cruelty charges is “full progress.”

Arpaio said "When I say I'm going to do something, I do it, OK? Some of you may think I do it just to get publicity and then hide,” continuing, “No. The DMX investigation is in full progress. Very soon, I will announce a resolution to that case.” DMX was accused of animal cruelty last August, after officials found 12 undernourished dogs and three buried dogs in the backyard. It should be noted that DMX has never been charged with a crime relating to the case.

Sheriff Arpaino isn't innocent. In 2004 Arpaino and members of a SWAT team raided a house, which later went up in flames. They were accused of driving a dog back into the house and then laughed as the owners watched the dog die an agonizing death. "I was crying hysterically," said Andrea Barker shortly after the botched raid. "I was so upset. They [deputies] were laughing at me."

Just two days before jury selection was to begin, the much-delayed R. Kelly trial could be postponed again.

The singer's defense team filed a motion Wednesday asking that Cook County Judge Vincent Gaughan delay the trial because of "a torrent of publicity surrounding the case."

The motion, which is being kept under seal, cited media coverage over the weekend of the judge's decision to allow a woman to testify that she had a three-way sexual encounter with Kelly and the teen shown in the videotape at the center of the case.

The earliest the judge could rule on this matter is Friday, the day jury selection is scheduled to begin. He gave prosecutors until Friday to respond to the defense request for a new trial.

Lil Romeo may not be Lil anymore but he doesn't want to lose his young fans. Romeo plans to release a new educational children's book and cartoon with his father Master P. Their new character, Gee Gee The Magical Giraffe, will have it's own book and cartoon series and Romeo hopes to use it as a learning tool. "If you reach kids with a positive message and instill the importance of education when they're young, they'll have that mentality for the rest of their life," Romeo said. “Gee Gee is going to be a role model and teach kids trough music, books, song, dance, and animation."

The new project will also feature Romeo's sister, Itali Miller, who will help write the books. Cartoonists Ryan Hutchinson and Olatokunbo Betiku will work on the cartoon series and Master P hopes to follow his sons example for providing alternatives to negative images. "There just aren't enough positive characters out there for our kids to look up to and learn from," said Master P. "Gee Gee is more important than any record or movie we’ve made. Romeo has inspired me to develop educational characters of my own. Instead of going into the booth to rap, I'll be in the booth lending my voice to a cartoon character that can make a difference."

The first Gee Gee the Giraffe cartoon DVD is slated to hit stores in 2009. A Gee Gee film is scheduled to arrive in theaters that same year.


DJ Green Lantern will lead fellow DJs, recording artists, and activists in a rally in Washington DC this summer called the "Million DJ March." The march will attempt to shed light on issues affecting DJs like hoping for better compensation, security, recognition for contributions to the music industry and an organized union for professional DJs.

The event that will be held on August 28th-30th, is headed up by A. Shaw, who is a long-time sponsor of Justo's Mixtape Awards. "DJ's do not get fully recognized for the work they do," Shaw said, "Label and major businesses who reap the rewards of default publicity need to pay attention and give more recognition and financial compensation to DJs for the promotion they provide, without which music sales would surely suffer."

"I am calling upon the industry to show support for an event to unify deejays and help create future economic safety for those that have chosen this art form as a career," Shaw said. Sponsors and attendees will be treated to artist performances, speeches by music industry leaders and founding DJs.

Lil Wayne appeared in an Arizona Superior Court today to face drug charges he recieved back in January. Wayne pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of a narcotic drug for sale, misconduct involving weapons and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wayne was arrested on January 22nd after DEA agents stopped his tour bus in southwestern Arizona. A border patrol dog alerted the agents to the presence of drugs and a search followed that uncovered 41 grams of ecstasy, four ounces of marijuana, a little over an ounce of cocaine and a .40 caliber pistol, which is registered to Lil Wayne in Florida. Wayne's next court date is May 19.

A photographer for a Florida newspaper claims he was pummeled and robbed last night by R&B singer Chis Brown's bodyguards.

The photog, Luis Santana, was at a lounge in St. Petersburg, FL., where Brown was accompanied by Rihanna, and was having a private birthday party. Santana was told by the venue's security that he could take photographs outside, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

He claims when he snapped Chris Brown in an SUV, Brown's bodyguards chased him and forced him to the ground. One guard put his knee on Santana's jaw, and took his $3,000 camera.

Police are investigating. Chris Brown rep was not immediately available for comment.

The Umbrella hitmaker - who has previously been linked to actor Josh Hartnett and, more recently, fellow singer Chris Brown insists it would be too hard to date someone else in the entertainment industry as their hectic schedules would keep them apart for too long.

She says, "If I was dating someone who wasn't in this industry they would be in the same place, all the time, so I could go back to that place and know where they were.

"If they did what I do we'd both be travelling at the same time and we would never see each other."

And the Bajan beauty has encouraged any potential suitors to be more forward when they approach her.

She adds, "I've met a few bold ones (men)! Then there are those who are intimidated by the whole idea of it. I'm never one to seek a guy out."

A bench warrant for the arrest of Foxy Brown was rescinded after a court mix-up called for the arrest of the rapper who was recently released from New York's Rikers Island.

Laura Dilimetin, Browns lawyer, said that the date was rescheduled with all parties but the change was not updated on the official court calendar. The court did issue a bench warrant, but it was recalled later in the day Monday, according to TMZ.

Foxy Brown's court date for May 6 was rescheduled for May 8.

Brown faces assault and weapons charges, stemming from an altercation with a Brooklyn neighbor. The NYPD accused Brown of striking her 25-year-old neighbor in the face with a mobile device and caused the woman to have a swollen lip, loose teeth and swelling in her right eye.

Brown was released from prison on April 18.

After just getting out of prison, Foxy Brown is now facing some more trouble. A woman that she allegedly smacked with her BlackBerry last year is now suing Foxy. The woman, Arlene Raymond, is actually Foxy's neighbor. She was rushed to Brooklyn Hospital in July of 07 with loose teeth and swelling around her lip and right eye occured, after the alleged altercation.

Foxy was just released from prison after serving eight months of a one year sentence she received for violating her probation. After she got out, she took a plea deal for another case where she allegedly got in an altercation at a Florida beauty supply store later year. Now Foxy Brown is working on her new album, Brooklyn's Don Diva, which is hitting stores May 13th.

Mary J. Blige is joining music executive Steve Stout to help motivate women to reach their goals. The two are starting a new organization called FFAWN: the Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation For the Advancement of Women Now, Inc. The foundation will be working to inspire women to reach their potential with scholarships, grants and programs that press strong self-esteem, career development and personal growth, while gaining the confidence and skills needed to achieve success.

Besides Blige and Stoute, Kendu Isaacs, Jada Pinkett Smith, Charles Wright, Lisa Price and Samantha Fink all will be on the board of directors for the foundation. Starting with Mary's hometown of Yonkers, the foundation will later spread to reach the rest of New York then the country.
